PostHeaderIcon User Experience Search Engine Optimization

SEO or search engine optimization defines as the process of improving the volume or quantity of traffic to a website from search engines. Traffic means acknowledging a website by online users at the same time and viewing the advertisement from different places almost all over the world. Thus, with SEO, a website can definitely be on top of a huge number of search results.

Search engine optimization is all about the user experience, because the idea behind SEO is to get users to their desired information and destinations as quickly and easily as possible by using the user’s language or keywords. Searchers type in keywords at a commercial web search engine.

On the surface, a SEO professional’s presumed knowledge of user experience might sound impressive. However, if you do a little digging, you might discover that search professionals have their own preconceived notions as to what constitutes a positive user experience, notions that have little or nothing to do with users at all.

There are many different ways that both search professionals and usability professionals gather information about users. Focus groups, Web analytics data, keyword research, field interviews, and usability tests are all ways that these professionals can gather information about searcher behavior and interaction with a website. Search professionals rely heavily on keyword research tools and Web analytics data to determine how users, and search engines, interact with a website.

Consequently, when your website is always located on the first item of search results, it gives mark to the mind of online users and getting the big chance to be seen by prospective consumers or customers. Your company website will be the favorite site to visit and will have the possible achievement of sales target leading to a higher return on your investment.

For example, a keyword phrase might be popular. And a site might rank well for this particular keyword phrase and its long-tail variations. But if the searchers who use this keyword phrase are not among your site’s target audience, then all of the time and expense put into the optimization and advertising for this keyword phrase is wasted.

When I test search results pages for usability, I do not hear test participants say that they view these websites in a positive manner. Rather, they are quite irritated when search listings (and the corresponding web pages) do not meet their expectations. And they become increasingly irritated when the same site appears over and over again for multiple searches. They are not only irritated with the website, they are also irritated with the search engine that keeps delivering listings from the same site over and over again. Test participants usually do not blame themselves for formulating poor search queries. They often blame the website owner and the search engine.

The user experience does not come from a brand manager’s perspective, a marketing manager’s perspective, or even a search engine’s perspective. The user experience comes from the user’s perspective. A search marketers would do well to keep this point in mind when doing SEO.

Another benefit that you can experience by the use of SEO is the high ranking in search engines. The only problem is that you will need to understand better how the search algorithms work and the requirements to meet it. Every search engine though has their own set of rules and basis on how to rank webpages, seems to share some common basis as well.

PostHeaderIcon Firefox with SeoQuake add-ons

Surfing the net is fun, but if you surf with a little knowledge then you’ll get some benefits for it. I’m surfing with Firefox with a little add-ons called SeoQuake . What does it do?

Seoquake is a Mozilla Firefox extension aimed primarily at helping web masters who deal with search engine optimization and internet promotion of web sites. Seoquake allows to obtain and investigate many important SEO parameters of the internet…

What it do is what all webmasters needs! Info! Info! Info! That’s it, it will show all the info about the site you’re visiting such as Google PR, backlinks, indexed page, Alexa rank, internal link, external link and much much more.

The best part that I love about it is that it show the numbers of the "nofollow" link of the particular sites that I’m visiting. It makes it easier for me to determine that the site is a "Do Follow" blog/sites or NOT! The thing is that you CAN’T always trust the "Do Follow" badge. It’s all CRAP!!! Some webmasters display the badge and set their blog "nofollow" in the comment sections. And some webmasters are just plain stupid! They don’t even know what that even means! They see that people use the badge and they figure that they should have it too without even knowing what it means.

Enough of the blabbering, if you’re a webmaster then you probably need this add-ons. Here’s a little snapshot.

The add-ons even shows the info in your search results. You have to configure the add-ons to suite your needs. So, what are you waiting for. Get SeoQuake now! :w00t:
