I got an email today and I think it’s FAKE! Why? Do you think Yahoo! would ask for their users passwords?

Take a look at the full email screenshots. If somehow a Yahoo! staff reading this and it’s the real thing please inform us about it. I doubt that it’s the real thing though, just take a good look at the full headers.

So, you got one? What do you think? Is it real?

  1. Definitely fake. It’s written in the sort of English that isn’t quite wrong as such but doesn’t sound like a native speaker. “Due to the congestion in all Yahoo users …”, “Yahoo would be shutting down …”.

  2. It’s a fake and always check the from email address, but watch for phishing and not the phishing you do with a rod and reel.

  3. You’ll have to tell them about it. I get all kinds of crap like this - mostly for credit card companies which I don’t even have an account with. Usually i try to report it. It’s sad.
